Mechanic

Purpose of the Job

Repair, maintain, inspect, and install spare parts and conduct diagnostic tests using manual tools and technological devices.

 

The position reports to the Administration Manager

Duties and Responsibilities
  1.          Conduct regular/ routine and adhoc maintenance on vehicles.

  2.       Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor

  3.          Maintenance of stock records

  4.          Custodian of workshop spares

  5.          Order mechanical components according to specifications

  6.       Test Drive vehicles

  7.          Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to vehicle users.

  8.         Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary.

  9.      Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.

  10.       Follow the workshop job flow process

  11.         Design a plan of action for all maintenance tasks.

  12.          Perform safety inspections on vehicles.

  13.          Examine vehicles and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems.

  14.       Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.

Qualifications and Experience
  1. 5 Ordinary levels including Mathematics and English.

  2.  Class 2 Driver’s License

  3. At least 3 years working experience in a similar role.

  4.  Class 1 Artisan Motor Mechanic.

   Skills/knowledge required to meet demands of the job

·         Knowledge of vehicle operation

·         Advanced maintenance requirements

·         Excellent knowledge of motor technology.
